A whole year group at a primary school have been told to isolate until next week after a child tested positive for Covid-19.
A Year 1 pupil from Repton Manor Primary School in Ashford has contracted the virus.
A total of 60 children and five staff who shared the same 'bubble' with the affected student are now self-isolating.
Head teacher Matt Rawling said: "I can confirm that we have had a confirmed case of COVID-19 within our Year 1 bubble.
"My staff and I followed Public Health England (PHE) guidance to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone within the school community and the 60 children and five staff within that bubble will be self-isolating at home until Thursday, September 24.
"Work is being sent home to those children, and teachers are in regular contact with pupils and their families via email.
"I would like to thank the staff, parents/carers and children in Year 1 for their support at this time.
“The rest of the school remains open with staff and pupils continuing to follow PHE guidance in terms of social distancing, handwashing and cleaning to minimise the spread of the virus and ensure pupils and staff can continue to learn and work in a safe environment.”
