Horse stuck in mud in Ashford rescued on Christmas Eve

A crane had to be used to rescue a horse stuck in mud.

Firefighters in two engines were sent to Hamstreet Road in Ashford and were at the scene for nearly four hours.

The animal, measuring 16 hands named Vokara, was lifted to safety using a crane and passed into the care of her owner and a vet.

The drama happened at 4pm yesterday and crews were at the scene until 7.50pm.
