Fire crews attend barn blaze at Goudhurst, caravan fire in Ashford and car fire in Snodland

An electrical fault is believed to be behind a blaze inside a barn last night.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service sent two engines to the incident off Cranbrook Road, in Goudhurst.

It took firefighters from 9pm till 10.30pm to extinguish the flames and make the premises safe.

A spokesman said the fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault. There were no injuries.

Elsewhere at 9.30pm, two other crews were called to a caravan alight at Ruckinge near Ashford.

Again the fire was accidental, caused by an electric heater. No injuries were reported and crews were able to leave the scene at 11.17pm.

Also last night, crews were called to a vehicle alight down Paddlesworth Road in Snodland.

Crews used a dry powder extinguisher initially to knock down the flames, then water jets to fully extinguish the fire.

The cause is believed to be suspicious. No injuries were reported.

Three fire engines were sent at 10.10pm and left at 12.35am.
