POLICE today closed off a section of the A2070 on the Ashford Business Park to investigate an allegation of rape.

A spokesman confirmed that an allegation of rape had been made to officers shortly before 10am this morning.

Police shut off the road soon afterwards to conduct a search of the area and traffic heading for the M20 was diverted to junction nine.

At 2pm, the road was still closed and police had not yet interviewed the alleged victim.
