Officers at a train station seized a 4x4 following suspicions it had been cloned.
Police were spotted outside Ashford International shortly after 12pm today, parked behind a Range Rover.
They had pulled over to investigate a vehicle they believed had been cloned.
This is a crime whereby offenders puts a vehicle's number plate on another to hide their identity and perform illegal activities such as avoiding speeding tickets, parking fines and toll and congestion charges.
A police spokesman said: “At around 12.20pm, Kent Police officers stopped a car that they believed had been cloned, in the area of Station Approach, Ashford.
“The vehicle was seized to allow for a full examination and the driver’s details were taken in the event that any offences have been committed.”
