Police and paramedics were called to Bad Munstereifel Road (A2042), in Ashford, this morning following an 'incident' with a woman on a bridge.

Emergency crews rushed to the busy road at 1.24am and were there for more than two hours.

A police spokesman said officers were called due to concerns for the woman's welfare but thankfully she came to no harm.

The A2042 was closed between The Boulevard and Romney Marsh Road but opened shortly after 3.30am.
