Emergency services rush to scene of crash in Ashford

Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a crash that has seen several roads shut.

The air ambulance has been seen landing near the site in Ashford, as crews attend alongside police, fire and ground crews.

The crash, which is at the junction of Church Road, Osbourne Road and Sevington Lane, was between a van and a motorbike.

Some eyewitnesses reporting being able to smell smoke close to the scene.

Access has been opened to Church and Osbourne Road, but Sevington Lane still appears to be shut, with diversions going through Highfield Road.

A police spokesperson said: "Kent Police was called at 10.42am on Sunday 2 August 2020 to Church Road, Ashford following reports of a collision involving a van and motorbike.

"SECAMB and Kent Fire and Rescue Service are also at the scene."

Fire and ambulance services have been contacted for comment.
