Eurostar delays at Ebbsfleet and Ashford International amid French strikes

Rail passengers are being advised not to travel back to the UK from Paris while French security officers go on strike.

Eurostar services from Paris to St Pancras International, which stop at Ebbsfleet International and Ashford International, are being affected.

Delays are being caused due to security staff at the check-in point taking industrial action.

Eurostar is recommending passengers not to travel from Paris unless absolutely necessary and are giving them the option to refund or exchange their ticket for free.

It is thought the disruption could last until Wednesday.

Spokesman Catherine Leonard said: "If you do have to travel today it's taking up to two hours to get through security.

"As the check in causes delays, we're just putting people on the next service.

"So you might not be getting on the service you expect but everyone who is here is travelling."

Eurostar are waiting to hear from the French government regarding when the strike will finish.
