Family home next to Costcutter branch in Aylesford Place, Ashford, suffers catapult attack

A family’s home was targeted by catapult-wielding yobs during a sudden evening attack.

A window was smashed at the house in Aylesford Place, Willesborough, Ashford, shortly after 7pm on Friday.

An image sent to KentOnline shows the extent of the damage to the family-of-four’s property, with the entire window shattered.

Police say they are now appealing for more information in a bid to help their investigation.

A spokesman said: “Kent Police was contacted on Saturday, January 11 and it was reported that the window of a house in Aylesford Place, Ashford had been damaged.

“The incident is reported to have taken place between 7pm and 7.30pm on Friday.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist investigators, is urged to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/5902/25.”

The incident comes just two weeks after a woman's car was also targeted in a catapult attack.

The window of a black Audi was smashed in Stanhope, Ashford, shortly before 10.30pm on December 28, with one onlooker claiming the damage was caused by four boys wielding the weapon.
