One hectare is about the size of a professional rugby pitch; the fire was larger than three professional football fields in size.

Fire crews used hose reel jets, a fog spike and beaters to fully extinguish the blaze.

Thankfully no casualties resulted from the blaze, which is believed to have spread from a nearby bonfire.

Following the incident, a Kent Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "We would like to remind the public to build bonfires well clear of any trees, foliage, and property, and to never leave it unattended.

"Once you are finished with the bonfire, dampen it down fully with water to ensure the fire is out."
