Fundraiser set up for family of Ashford M20 collision victim Elle-Mae Wood

The 20-year-old Ashford resident's body was tragically found on the coastbound carriageway of the M20 near Junction 10a last month.

A police investigation into the incident in the early hours of Sunday, June 14 is still ongoing.

Her family described her as a devoted and wonderful mother to her young son Kian.

Her mum, Carly, said: "Elle was a devoted mother, and given how young she was she was absolutely fantastic.

"She was not just a 20-year-old who was found in the motorway, she was a mum, a daughter, a sister, a niece and a grand-daughter".

A JustGiving campaign, set up by Hayley Bethal, aims to raise a minimum of £1,500 for the family and had already amassed more than £1,000.

"Let's all dig deep and show we care for our beautiful girl."

Ms Bethal says the money will go towards funeral costs, as well as helping "take the pressure off a family left heartbroken".

She explained: "Any funds left remaining will go towards her son Kian's future.

"Let's all dig deep and show we care for our beautiful girl who has been taken far too soon."

Police are still appealing for information from anyone who was on the M20 at the time of Elle-Mae's death.

Anyone who can help is urged to call 01622 798538 or email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk quoting reference MM/JW/51/20.
