Gang attack on pair on early morning train

BRITISH Transport Police are hunting a gang of youths who assaulted a conductor and a passenger on a train in Kent.

Police are studying CCTV footage from the 7.55am Ramsgate to Charing Cross train on Sunday, January 15, and also viewing station camera recordings to determine where the gang boarded the train.

The attack happened between Canterbury and Ashford and involved five youths. A woman had her arm twisted behind her back and the male conductor was beaten in the incident.

Insp Terry Reene, of British Transport Police at Ashford said: “It would be very helpful if anyone who saw anything on that train came forward.”
