Ashford mum Krystal Orpin is appealing for the return of missing 'Ted' after her four-year-old daughter had a sleepless night without him

A four-year-old from Ashford has been left heartbroken after losing her favourite teddy bear.

Inconsolable Laci-May Hamilton was separated from her beloved pink toy, aptly named ‘Ted’, yesterday (Tuesday, July 9) in Ashford’s town centre when she was out shopping with her dad, John Hamilton.

It is not known exactly when Ted was lost but Laci-May’s family have had no luck finding him when they retraced their steps in search for the cuddly comforter.

Now mum Krystal Orpin, 22, is appealing for the return of Ted after Laci-May suffered a sleepless night without him.

Miss Orpin, of Godfrey Walk, South Ashford, said: “It feels like a pet has died. Laci-May sobbed for hours last night and this morning. He is her comforter and she likes to rub his tail between her thumb and finger at night to help her sleep.”

Ted was a Christmas present to Laci-May three years ago from her Nan, Christina Orpin, and the pair have been inseparable ever since.

The bear is pink in colour, with the words ‘My 1st Christmas’ on his left foot.

Mrs Orpin, who is pregnant with her second child, added: “They’re best friends and as long as Laci-May has Ted she doesn’t care who else is with her. He is quite grubby because he is always out and about with Laci.”
