The town's branch at Eureka Park is experiencing a similar jam to get into the fast food outlet.

Vehicles stretched back past the nearby roundabout according to one witness - a distance of more than 250 metres.

The Orbital Park branch, situated near Junction 10A of the M20, is the company's second busiest drive-thru in the world on a normal day.

Today, cars are backing onto The Boulevard just to get one last Big Mac before McDonald's shuts its doors tonight due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Customers are only allowed to use the drive-thru and takeaway facilities, with seating areas having been shut down five days ago.

Branches across the county, including a drive-thru in Gillingham are experiencing similar congestion problems due to tonight's shutdown, with the roundabout by the Whitfield McDonald's completely gridlocked.

Footage of the Gillingham's queues were captured earlier this afternoon and there were also similar scenes in Maidstone.
