Ashford: Co-op in Faversham Road, Kennington, targeted by knife-wielding robbers weeks after cash machine raid

A crime-hit Co-op has been targeted by knife-wielding robbers - just weeks after thieves used explosives to blow up a cash machine.

Witnesses say three raiders entered the store in Faversham Road, Kennington, and stole a bottle of alcohol.

Police were called to the store at about 8am after staff were threatened with a knife.

No one was injured and police have been contacted for comment.

Earlier this month, a bomb disposal team was called out after the store's cash machine was targeted in the early hours.

In a separate incident in November, thieves smashed their way through the front of the building, swiping scratch cards, alcohol and cigarettes at about 2.30am.
