The M20 is closed in both directions as police investigate a serious accident.

The road is shut between Junction 10a (Ashford) and Junction 11 (Westenhanger) following the incident overnight.

Police remain at the scene this morning carrying out investigations and the road is likely to be closed for some time.

Coast-bound traffic is being diverted via Junction 10 onto the A20 towards Folkestone. Continue on the A20 and rejoin the M20 at Junction 11.

London-bound traffic should follow the same directions in reverse.
