Man charged over car theft in Ashford

A man has been charged with a string of offences after a car was stolen and others interfered with in Ashford.

Stephen Cole, 35, of Brattle, Woodchurch, was charged earlier today with stealing a car, three counts of vehicle interference, one count of theft and one count of burglary.

Between Monday and Wednesday, Cole is alleged to have interfered with three vehicles in Adams Drive and Essella Road, Willesborough, and Green Fields Lane in Singleton. He is also accused of stealing bank cards and a laptop from a vehicle in Hunter Avenue, Willesborough, on Wednesday.

Cole has also been charged with a burglary at a property in Birling Road on Monday and with stealing a car on the same day in Town Farm Place.

He was arrested in Essella Road on Wednesday morning. Cole remains in custody and is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates' Court later today.
