Man charged after 230 cannabis plants seized in Kennington police raid

A man has been charged after 230 cannabis plants were seized during a police raid.

Officers made the discovery at a property in A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington, at 11.55am on Friday.

They arrived in three vans and were seen clearing stacks of plant pots from the Ashford house at about 6pm.

Detectives have confirmed that 39-year-old Timh Tran, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene.

He has since been charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis, and with abstracting electricity.

A police spokesman said: "He was remanded in custody when he appeared before Medway magistrates yesterday in order to appear at another court on a later date."
