Man charged after police find loaded handgun in house in Westwell, near Ashford

A man has been arrested and charged after a loaded gun was found at a house.

Police carried out a warrant at the home in Watery Lane, Westwell, near Ashford, on April 13.

A police dog helped locate a handgun, loaded with bullets, in the loft.

A knuckleduster was also seized.

Dean Goodearl, 38, of Watery Lane, was arrested and has since been charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and possession of a knuckleduster.

He appeared before Margate magistrates on Monday and is currently remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, May 12.
