Suspected burglar in court over Ashford theft

A suspected burglar is due to appear in court in relation to a theft in Ashford.

A television and keys to a van were stolen from a property in Bank Street on Wednesday June 24.

The van was later reported stolen during the same incident.

The vehicle was found a short time later in Works Lane, less than ten minutes drive away from the scene.

However, a number of tools and battery packs which had been in the back of the van were missing.

Lee Darling, 46, was caught and charged with taking a vehicle without consent, burglary and theft from a vehicle yesterday.

Darling, of Gravelly Field in Ashford, is due to appear via virtual link at Medway Magistrates' Court today.
