Bethersden man charged following accident on A28

A man in his 60s has been charged with drink and dangerous driving following a crash on the A28.

David Camier, of Green Lane in Bethersden, was arrested in March after his white Mercedes convertible hit another car.

Camier was charged with causing serious injuries by dangerous driving and driving above the legal alcohol limit yesterday.

He is accused of being drunk behind the wheel of the Mercedes CLS 250 convertible when the incident happened at about 5.50pm on Saturday, March 17.

The 28-year-old female driver of a blue Fiat Punto was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

Fire crews also attended the scene and helped free the two casualties before handing them to ambulance crews.

Camier is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Wednesday August, 15.
