Man detained after fatal stabbing

A 48-year-old Ashford man has died after being stabbed in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police were called to Faversham Road in Challock, near Canterbury, at about at 3.45am where they found the victim.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld until all next of kin have been informed. He is believed to be a security guard at a lorry depot.

Police say a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing and he is in custody.
