A man in his 20s fought off a gang of armed robbers who demanded he handed over his mobile phone.

The victim, 23, reportedly kicked one of the suspects to the floor after being approached in Ashford.

He had been threatened with a knife and punched in the head and chest after refusing to hand over his mobile.

The incident happened at the junction with Adams Drive and Hunter Avenue in Willesborough just after 6pm on Monday.

The men - who were all wearing black clothing and had their faces covered with scarves and sunglasses - ran off towards Hunter Avenue.
