Ashford: Intruder spooks drivers by getting into their cars at McDonald's in Orbital Park

Drivers have been left spooked after a stranger reportedly got into their vehicles uttering the word "Calais".

It is believed that the man randomly got into cars, with people inside them, as they were in the car park of the McDonald's in Orbital Park in Ashford.

This happened to one customer, who asked not to be named, as he sat in his car at 5am yesterday.

He said: "I was parked in the car park and a random man just opened my door and got in my car.

"I've got a three door car so he was in the front seat next to me.

"I asked what he was doing and he just said 'Calais'. I told him to get out but he sat there for a few minutes before he left."

He continued: "I was more in shock than anything. I didn't really know what to do.

"After he got out of my car, he then tried getting into a van but the driver started shouting at him so he left.

"He was dirty but he didn't look homeless. He had a phone and spoke good English."
