Man pushes knife through van window in Baileys Field, Ashford

A bystander to a disturbance had a knife thrust through his van window.

The victim was sat in his vehicle in Baileys Field, Ashford, at 8am on June 15.

Following the disturbance, a man was verbally abusive and reportedly pushed his arm and the knife through the open window of the vehicle.

The victim, who was not injured, then closed his window and left.

A police spokeswoman said: "The suspect was described as a white man with a small to medium build, 5ft 8in tall.

"He had ginger hair and was wearing a grey North Face hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.

"A 20-year-old man from Lydd was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released without charge.

"Officers are urging anyone who recognises the suspect’s description, or any witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers, to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/100729/20.
