Attempted robbery on track between Bockhanger Lane and Hurst Road, Ashford

A man refused to hand over money when he was the victim of an attempted mugging at knifepoint in the middle of the afternoon.

He was walking along a track between Bockhanger Lane and Hurst Road in Kennington, Ashford, on July 12 when he was approached.

It was about 2.25pm when the man was confronted by the armed man, who demanded money.

However the victim refused to hand anything over and the suspect left the scene.

Police officers are now investigating the incident.

A police spokesman said: "The offender is described as around 5ft, 11ins and was of slim build.

"He was wearing a long, cream-coloured puffer jacket, light blue jeans and white Nike trainers. He had a white baseball cap and a black face covering.

"Anyone with any information, or CCTV or dashcam footage which may assist the investigation, is urged to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/122873/21."
