Man 'stabbed at New Year party' in Canterbury Road in Willesborough, Ashford

A man is thought to have been seriously injured in a suspected stabbing in a residential street.

The attack is believed to have happened at about 1.30am in Canterbury Road in Willesborough, Ashford, after a fight in the road which is understood to have spilled out from a New Year's party.

Police taped off the area this morning and officers could be seen with evidence bags at the scene.

The cordon was lifted shortly after 11.30am.

A helicopter is also understood to have been called at about 2am.

It is not known if this was sent by the air ambulance or police.

One police car was parked in Mead Road by Costcutter and two were in Canterbury Road.

Officers, including forensics teams, were at the junction between Mead Road and Canterbury Road.

Kent Police has not yet commented on the incident.
