Ashford: Hunt continues after girl attacked on footbridge near North School

Police are still hunting for a man who attacked a teenage girl on a footbridge while she walked alone to work.

The victim, 19, was left covered in blood after being approached from behind by a man who hit her on the head with an unknown object, causing a number of injuries.

She was taken to the William Harvey Hospital following the incident, which happened on the crossing between Osborne Road and Essella Road on the morning of July, 8.

Staff at the North School in Ashford patrolled the crossing before the summer break after learning about the attack.

Police say the attack was not sexually motivated and nothing was stolen, but officers are still searching for the suspect.

He is described as a white man aged between 30 to 40, 6ft tall with short, curly brown hair.

He was wearing a light blue top and dark shorts at the time of the incident.
