Missing toddler back with mum

TWO-year-old Taylor Rose Burniston, missing from Stanhope, Ashford, since July 31 has been re-united with her mother.

The toddler had not been seen since her father Shaun failed to bring her back after an outing. Her mother obtained an emergency court order for the child's return and last week appealed for help to trace her.

Police said that the child's 38-year-old father, who has lived in Ashford in the past, could be either in Newcastle or overseas. He had told the child's mother, who lives on the Stanhope estate, that he intended to keep their daughter with him.

Yesterday afternoon police spokesperson Rosy Alexander said: "We have received word that she is safe and well, and understand she is reunited with her mother.

"We have not more information at the moment and they are not in Ashford. We will be talking to the mother when she returns."
