A woman who stabbed her daughter is believed to have then turned the knife on herself.
Aurica-Floarea Lazar was discovered unconscious by police on the kitchen floor of her home in Ellson Close, Ashford, on Monday, June 2.
An inquest into the 55-year-old’s death was told she was still holding a knife in her hand, and had sustained stab wounds to her neck and chest.
The coroners’ court heard how officers called to the scene established Ms Lazar had earlier attacked her daughter, forcing her to flee to a neighbour’s house with serious injuries.
It sparked a huge emergency services response, with police and paramedics arriving in Newtown shortly before 1.45pm.
Medics treating Ms Lazar decided she needed to be urgently airlifted to hospital, but her condition deteriorated and she died at the scene.
The tragedy occurred just a day after Romanian-born Ms Lazar and her daughter shared a day out in Canterbury, with pictures on social media showing them enjoying an ice cream in the city.
Writing on Facebook yesterday, her daughter paid tribute, saying: “My dear mother. You were beautiful, gentle and charismatic.
“We, your family, want to remember you this way – happy and healthy!
“May God keep you under His cover.”
The reason for the attack is not yet known, with police investigations still underway to assist the coroner.
There are no active criminal proceedings, with police previously confirming they are not looking for any other suspects in connection with the stabbing of Ms Lazar or her daughter.
