Two men have been arrested at a train station in one night after allegedly biting and spitting at arresting officers.

The first man was detained at Ashford International station on suspicion of assaulting staff, threatening behaviour and being drunk and disorderly.

Following the Ashford incident, British Transport Police tweeted: "This male was taken to custody and had to be placed on a constant watch with three officers due to his aggressive nature, whilst there the male spat in an officers face. He has been further arrested for this."

A second individual was later detained at the same station on suspicion of a sexual offence, however this arrest was equally troublesome.

In a series of tweets, the rail-based legal enforcers followed the case: "Officers have arrested another male at #ashfordinternational on suspicion of a sexual offence.

"This male then bit one of the arresting officers on the hand and was further arrested for this.

"While on a constant watch at hospital this male has just assaulted another police officer. He has been further arrested for this. And officers are on their way to custody now.

"This male once he had left hospital and arrived at custody was searched and officers found a small knife on him for which he has been further arrested."
