Two men arrested following car raids in Bensted, Ashford as owners of stolen jewellery urged to come forward

Police who seized stolen items of jewellery are encouraging the rightful owners to come forward and reclaim their property.

It comes after two men were arrested for allegedly raiding several vehicles parked in Bensted, Ashford, at about 3am on Thursday.

During the incidents, the men were reportedly disturbed and took off.

Officers then spotted two men who matched the description of the suspects.

As the pair were searched, officers discovered a gold watch, a gold ring with an emerald stone, a gold ring with a pearl stone and a plain ring.

A 36-year-old man and a 33-year-old man, both from Ashford, were detained on suspicion of interference with a motor vehicle.

Both have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
