Paramedics called to Newtown Road near Ashford Designer Outlet after pedestrian hit by car

Paramedics have been called to after a pedestrian was hit by a car near a busy shopping centre.

There were reports of delays on Newtown Road, which is near Ashford Designer Outlet, following the collision.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Newtown Road, Ashford at 8.40am today.

"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the pedestrian was treated at the scene."

Traffic information site Inrix reported shortly before 9am today there are queues in both directions due to an collision near Alferd Road.

But it reported shortly before 10.30am the road had been cleared and traffic had returned to normal.

The ambulance service has been contacted for more information.
