Police car damaged in crash at junction of Beaver Road and Victoria Road in Ashford

A police car has been damaged after being involved in a town centre crash this afternoon.

Pictures from the scene of the accident at the junction of Beaver Road and Victoria Road in Ashford show the Vauxhall Astra with damage to the driver's side and a pole at the junction bent over.

A Range Rover can also be seen within a cordoned-off area of the road following the incident, which happened at about 3.30pm.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Shortly after 3.30pm a car was in collision with a police car, which was responding to an emergency call, near Station Road, Ashford.

"Two people who were in the car have been taken to a local hospital as a precaution and officers are at the scene managing traffic and arranging recovery of the vehicles."
