THE body of a man found floating in the River Medway at Maidstone at the weekend has been identified as Edwin Cox, from the Senacre area of the county town.

Mr Cox, 59, known as Ted, was found on Sunday. Police, ambulance crews and firefighters were called to the riverbank, near the Fremlin Walk development after the body was spotted by a passer-by.

Police do not believe that there are any suspicious circumstances surrouning Mr Cox's death, but want to establish his final movements as part of their investigation.
