Network Rail, which owns the bridge and has a maintenance depot next to the scene, is helping to restrict traffic.

Motorists should avoid the area, where traffic is reportedly building.

If entering Ashford town centre from the M20 J10, remain on the A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road before taking the A2042.

Buses using the route are being diverted.
