An investigation has been launched as fire crews continue to tackle a house fire that broke out in the early hours.
Emergency services were called to reports of a blaze at a property near Bank Road in Aldington, Ashford, at 2.15am.
At its peak, six fire engines, a height vehicle and a bulk water carrier were at the scene, with crews wearing breathing apparatus while extinguishing the flames.
In an update issued at 11am, the fire service said the blaze is now out but crews are still dampening down hot spots.
Four engines and the technical rescue unit remain on scene.
There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known, but is being investigated.
A spokesperson said: “If you are travelling or planning to travel near Bank Road, Aldington, Ashford, we are still advising you to avoid the area as crews are still dealing with a house fire.”
Bank Road and nearby Roman Road are closed in both directions from Frith Road to Laws Lane.
South East Water has warned supplies in the area may be affected as the firm provides support to crews, with low water pressure the most likely effect.
