Damage caused to stained-glass windows at St Mary’s Church in The Street, Great Chart, near Ashford

A stained glass window has been damaged after youths were spotted throwing stones at a village church.

It is reported that criminal damage to the window and roof tiles at St Mary’s Church in The Street, Great Chart, took place between 2pm and 7pm on Monday.

Police investigating the case are also seeking witnesses to a group of young people seen throwing stones at other windows in the church two days earlier.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed either incident or has information which may assist the investigation."
