Suspected drunk driver crash blocked A28 at Godmersham, near Ashford

A suspected drunk driver has been arrested after a crash blocked a key road

Police were called to the two-vehicle collision on the A28 at Godmersham, near Ashford, shortly after 4.30pm.

A man was arrested at the scene - the A28 junction with The Street - on suspicion of drink driving and taking a vehicle without consent.

A police spokesman said Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) and the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) were also in attendance.

The road was cleared by 6.50pm.
