Ashford: Teenager injured in suspected hit and run at Chart Road junction

A teenage moped rider suffered leg injuries in a suspected hit and run.

The boy was struck by a blue hatchback while approaching the traffic lights at the junction of Chart Road and Loudon Way in Ashford.

The driver of the car, who was travelling towards Brookfield Road in the same direction as the rider, failed to stop after the incident between 2pm and 2.30pm on Monday.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw or has dashcam footage of the incident.

The rider involved was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective sergeant Heidi Collins said: "We would also appeal for the driver of the car to come forward as their information will help us establish the circumstances of the collision.

"Witnesses are asked to call police on 01843 222289, quoting ZY/55347/18."
