Teenagers arrested after suspected Ashford town centre stabbing

Two 17-year-old boys have been arrested after two men were reportedly stabbed near a Kent high street last night.

The alleged victims were taken to hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds following the incident in Ashford which prompted a strong emergency response.

Speaking this morning, a police spokesperson added: “We were called at 7.51pm on Wednesday following a report of an assault in the Bank Street area of Ashford.

“Emergency services attended and two men were found with injuries consistent with stab wounds.

“They were taken to a local hospital for treatment and their injuries are not life-threatening.”

The teenage suspects were detained on suspicion of assault and have since been released on bail while inquiries continue.

Bank Street – off Ashford’s high street – was cordoned off last night, with at least two ambulances and two police cars called to the scene.

An air ambulance was also reported to have landed at a field behind nearby St Mary’s Primary School, opposite Eastern Avenue, at about 8.30pm.
