Thirty manhole covers stolen from one road in Ashford

Police are hunting thieves who are believed to have disguised themselves as highways workers to steal 30 manhole covers from one road.

The thefts all happened between Tuesday, May 11 to Thursday, May 13 in Knoll Lane, Ashford.

The thefts have prompted a police plea for dashcam footage.

"We would like to hear from anybody who saw people acting suspiciously in the area over this period," Sergeant Jason Bushell said.

"They may have had the appearance of highways workers with a vehicle, and we are asking anyone who drove along Knoll Lane with dashcam to check for footage that may assist our investigation."
