Thousands of residents and businesses could be left without power after an unplanned outage stripped the area of electricity.
Multiple outage reports in Faversham have been made, with the area suffering various issues in the wake of Storm Darragh.
UK Power Networks says “a fault has occurred on a piece of our electrical equipment”.
According to the firm, the area affected goes out as far as Ospringe, Brogdale and Brenley Corner.
Significant businesses within the area include Faversham railway station and The Abbey School, though UKPN has advised not all properties will be without electricity.
However, it is not thought the majority of the town centre itself is impacted while Davington and Bysing Wood are also clear of issues.
It is expected power will be returned to the area by 4.30pm today.
A UK Power Networks spokesperson told KentOnline: Our engineers are attending the Preston Street area of Faversham to safely restore power to 87 customers following reports of a power cut at 10.05am this morning.
“The cause of the power cut is under investigation. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
