Torture fear man's street protest

A 45-year-old man is to stage a protest over fears that he will be deported back to his homeland of Iran.

Jalal Rezaie, a chef at The Conningbrook restaurant in Kennington, Ashford, claims he faces torture and imprisonment if he returns to Iran where he served as a pilot in the armed forces.

Friends and colleagues of Mr Rezaie, of South Willesborough, Ashford are planning a demonstration outside the Kentish Express newspaper offices in North Street, Ashford, in support of his bid to remain in the country.

Ashford police have been alerted to the protest which is due to be staged at 2.30pm on Monday.
