Traffic was temporarily held on the M20 after a multi-vehicle collision between Maidstone and Ashford.

It happened on the coastbound carriageway just before 6.35am between Junction 8 for Leeds Castle, and Junction 9 for Fougeres Way in Ashford.

Police arrived to find the accident involved a lorry, a van and two cars but no injuries were reported.

The carriageway was closed while the vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder and debris was cleared.

Meanwhile one lane was also blocked between Junction 5 for Aylesford and Junction 4 for Leybourne on the Londonbound carriageway because of another accident.

This has now cleared.
