Travellers pitch up in Ashford next to Elwick Place Travelodge

Travellers have pitched up next to a multimillion-pound leisure complex in a town centre.

Nine caravans have been spotted on wasteland next to the Elwick Place Travelodge in Elwick Road, Ashford.

Ashford Borough Council says it is aware of the encampment and is taking "appropriate action".

Last month, a group pitched up on the Waterbrook Park industrial estate in Sevington - just hours after being moved from The Ridge playing field in Kennington.
