A truck is stuck on a steep verge after a three-car crash on a major route.

Emergency services closed the A28 Ashford Road between Chilham and Godmersham after the incident.

Traffic information site Inrix reported queuing traffic on the route, between Ashford and Canterbury, and said three cars were involved.

Pictures show a truck stuck on the steep verge next to the A-road.

It has now reopened in both directions, but it is understood the route might close again to allow for recovery.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to a collision involving a lorry and a van in Ashford Road, Chilham at 8.18am today.

“Officers remain at the scene arranging the recovery of one of the vehicles involved.”
