TWO men have appeared in court charged with robbing and wounding an Asian man in Ashford last week.

Scott Chorlton, 23, unemployed, of Kilndown Close, Stanhope, Ashford, and John Yarwood, 25, a roofer, of Otterden Close, Stanhope, are charged with robbing Mohammed Nurujjamal and unlawfully wounding him with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on Wednesday, January 4.

Yarwood is also charged with threatening to kill Teri-Louise Woodrow on the same date.

The case was committed to Maidstone Crown Court, where the pair will appear on Monday, January 23.

Both were remanded in custody. Yarwood is originally from Manchester.
