Two men hunted after street stabbing

A MAN is seriously ill in hospital after being stabbed in the street.

He was attacked by two men who also stole his wallet. The incident happened in Norwood Street, Ashford, at about 8.10pm on Wednesday.

The victim was taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford where he underwent emergency surgery and is now said to be in a "stable" condition.

Det Ch Insp Paul Fotheringham, who is leading the investigation, said: "This is a serious incident and we are anxious to speak to anyone who may have seen two men running from the scene last evening.

"They are described as white, aged between 20-22 years old, short fair hair and wearing black jackets and black jeans."

The men are thought to have fled from Norwood Street towards Queen Street.
