Two teens charged after Jaydon McFarlane stabbed and killed in Ashford

Two 17-year-olds have been charged following the death of a man.

Jaydon McFarlane, 19, was stabbed to death on Brookfield Road, Ashford at about 12.30pm on Saturday.

Four arrests have been made so far in the murder investigation, with charges now brought against two suspects.

A 17-year-old from Ashford has been charged with the murder of Mr McFarlane, while another 17-year-old has been charged with assisting an offender.

Due to their age, those charged have not been named.

Both teenagers are due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today.

Detectives continue to carry out a number of inquiries in the local area and have seized four knives, which they believe may be connected to the stabbing.

A police spokeswoman said: "A 24-year-old man from Ashford, who was arrested on Saturday, remains on police bail until Monday, March 23.

"A 19-year-old man, also from Ashford, was arrested on Sunday and has been released on bail until Tuesday, April 7.

"Detectives are continuing to appeal for people to come forward, who were in the area of Brookfield Road, near Clockhouse shortly before or after 12.27pm on Saturday.

"Motorists or cyclists are also asked to submit their dashcam footage."
